Tuesday 11 November 2008 Blood Lactate and Retul Testing Hey Racers,
It is that time of year again where we all start our off season training programs. All Pro Tour Teams are doing their physiological testing on their riders to establish baseline values. By establishing baseline values through Blood Lactate Threshold testing we can track exact improvements in fitness. Kevin Livingston at Pedal Hard is working out of Mellow Johnny's bike shop to do testing. It would be advantageous for your racing to make it in there and get tested. Additionally Kevin is running new technology from Retul bike fitting to find the most aerodynamic and powerful position on your road and TT bike. Strategically the best riders in the world race in the most optimal bike position for both TT and road.

Friday 24 October 2008 Steve Brandt Steve Brandt 1975-2008
As we drove the seemingly endless miles from North Carolina to Texas, our hearts felt heavier and heavier with each mile. Talking to so many of you, listening to your stories, seeing the love in your eyes even through your and our tears gave us a measure of comfort and peace. Thank you.
As Steve developed as a cyclist, he shared with us that he felt he successfully filled his role on a team if he impacted the result of the race - helping give a teammate an opportunity for a top finish. As we listened to so many of you speak, we could not help but feel that his all too short life reflected this same role - to impact our lives in a manner that we would all finish our own personal races in a far better position than if he hadn't been involved.
So many have asked what they could do to help us - his father, mother, "grammy", Kim and Doug. What we would ask of each of you is to take a personal snapshot of a shared moment with Steve and slip that image into your heart. Steve will never be gone as long as one of us holds a cherished memory of him and celebrates his life.
We will never be the same; the pain and grief will soften with time but never disappear; we will always miss Steve; we will always love him. May your memories of Steve be gentle ones, and once again, thank you for your love, caring and support.
Love,
Jim and Jan Brandt
